"Acer is known for manufacturing high-end laptops with great value. Adapting to the tech environment with time is necessary which is why brands have started expanding their operations to other growing areas. Similarly, Acer has also stepped into the fitness market which has fitness trackers as their main products. Acer’s Liquid Leap incorporates features of a good fitness tracker and some bits from a smartwatch.

The outlook of the device is really simple and like others, doesn’t scream for attention. It is about an inch wide with rubber plastic strap. In the middle of it, is a glass display that is not as perfect as Samsung’s watch. What makes the look a little disturbing is the great difference between screen and strap. In other watches, the two parts of the watch blend perfectly but not in Liquid Leap. The space that is left could have been better utilized to give a complete look. There are two small metal prongs that would secure the band in either of the holes depending on your size. The strap is however really hard and you have to put extra effort to get the prongs inside of the spaces. Paklap would not really call it a watch since the look is slightly different. Nonetheless, it is quite comfortable and its light weight makes the device almost disappear in terms of sensing it.

However, the device must be appreciated for its simplicity and ease of usage. There are no buttons to deal with and the user, very conveniently, can control it via the touch screen provided. Hitting two taps on the screen will turn the device on. This particular gesture might take a while to get used to because the screen isn’t really a good sensor and will require a little forceful touch to process the function.

As an activity tracker, Leap will only be doing the basics. It counts the number of steps, distance, calories burned, active time and a good record of sleep. Leap is able to perform all the above-mentioned actions accurately with very low chances of error. It will give all that is stated in the description and nothing extra. So don’t expect it to show you your averages or personal bests of all.

Its battery life is something that is stronger compared to other smartphone watches. Even after 5 whole days the device was going perfectly fine with a standby time of 240 hours. Waterproof feature further creates ease for the users as they can take the device out in the rain or under water and it will run perfectly fine for up to 30 good minutes. While connected to your phone over Bluetooth it will only notify you of texts and calls, no Facebook or other social networking notifications. However, as a bonus you can check your old notifications as they remain long after as well.

Light and reliable, Acer Liquid Leap may not be perfect but is quite practical. It cannot be termed as the perfect smartwatch which we want to carry with all the emails showing and features overflowing, but does best what it claims; keeping you well-informed of your health routine. Thus, this one is definitely a keeper with whatever it offers. At least it is compatible with Android and iPhones, considering the cheap price of 80 pounds, we can say that for starters, Acer has done an appreciable job.

Paklap.pk wishes Acer all the luck!"
