Intel has been a long time king when it comes to high power processors for gaming systems. However, AMD has been giving it a quite heavy competition with its Ryzen series processors. AMD announced these high power processors a while back, recently they have shared with their users some more details.

AMD is expected to push out these processors in August 2017. To counter AMD’s growing processor power Intel also announced the launch of their new Core i9 Processors, which are also expected to be officially released in August.

AMD’s Ryzen Thread rippers

There are two models that are expected to launch next month, one is 16 Core 1950X and the other one is 12 Core 1920X.

Let’s look at some technical features:

16 Core 1950X has 32 threads
12 Core 1920X has 24 threads
1950X operates at 3.4GHz and 1920X at 3.5GHz (Turbo boost up to 4GHz)
180W power, TR4 socket
32MB L3 Cache
64 PCIe lanes and Quad channel DDR memory
1950X costs $999, 1920X costs $799

On the Intel’s side

Intel also has two new processors 16 Core i9 7960 & 12 Core i9. Here are their features:

16 Core with 32 threads, 12 Core with 24 threads
Clock speeds of 4.5GHz in both versions (boosted)
165W 16 Core, 140W 12 Core
Options of cores (18, 14, 10)
16 Core priced at $1699, 12 at $1199

Although, Intel is giving more choice to its users with core options still AMD is clearly a winner in terms of price.
