"Google’s Daydream, made to provide the ultimate VR experience, is one of the best virtual reality headsets available out there. The headset is made up of soft fabric, designed for comfort and can easily be fitted over eyeglasses. It is light, immersive and intuitive, but up till now, had only one drawback - color. When it was first launched, Daydream was available only in one color: slate gray. Although it is not much of a problem, the color of Daydream VR headset was not liked by many users even though it received positive reviews from most reviewers.

But even if the color of the device did not have a major impact on its sales (the performance mattered more), it was a problem and this problem is now solved. On 1st December, Google has made these headsets available in two new colous: crimson and snow. Both the new models cost $79, the same as the slate gray model has cost since autumn. In the honor of these new colors, Google has also altered the color of its controller to white. Originally, it was dark charcoal black.

Shipping begins on 8 December and both crimson and snow headsets can be pre-ordered right now on Google Stores in the UK and the US. Google Daydream works on almost the same principle as Samsung’s Gear VR platform: using a smartphone as the source for high-resolution, VR videos. The smartphones originally compatible with Daydream were Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL but others like Moto Z, are being added to the list.

Although, introducing new colors might be beneficial to the sales of Daydream, more important to its success are the content and the number of devices that work with the device. Only this wider availability for Google’s Daydream will ensure its place and success in the market. "
