About more than 5000 gamers had their prayers answered, on May 31, when they got to experience VR gaming on the all new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080. This all took place at the Grand Hyatt Taipei’s marble atrium hosted by Computex. A great number of gamers were the young kids who were more than eager to get the first try on their favorite games and the VR experience powered by GTX 1080.
A separate VR Funhouse was set with a set of carnival inspired games. These were set particularly for the kids to try out virtual reality and see how they were able to handle it. In this section, activities like shooting targets, popping balloons and scoring basket goals were frequently played. When kids were asked alongside, many said that the gaming was a little tricky in the first minute but then as the game proceeded, they got used to it, and it was an incomparable experience.
Majority of the attention was given to Experience Centre booths in which Ansel was being offered. Ansel is actually the photo capturing technology of NVIDIA that lets gamers take pictures while they are involved in gaming. The pictures are taken from various angles and a lot of filters are used to ensure that highest quality pictures are delivered which can be further shared in 360 degrees panoramas.
It was undoubtedly a great initiative by Computex and NVIDIA to promote their high-end graphics card and make sure that gamers try it out in future. The GTX 1080 is NVIDIA’s best quality graphic card till date that specializes in VR and 4K gaming. The reason why its performance is considered to be so powerful is because of the introduction of a new feature called “Pascal”. Pascal processes in a way that ensures a greater number of transistors on all pieces of silicon that are there, and this increases the performance by having least effect on the power consumption. The memory too gets elevated to a total of 8 GB. This huge amount of storage makes more places for all the graphical data moving at greater speeds. Even after all the intense processing and storage, the system is not that loud and the single fan keeps it quiet at all times.
