The virtual reality has been nothing but an idea and an unfeasible concept up until now. For decades, it has been a fantasy for every gamer to get into action with the foes of the gaming world and submerge into a part-real and part-virtual world. Fortunately for us, we live in such a time where the technology has advanced so much that this phenomenon is not just a notion anymore, but is now practically possible.
As the VR technology is now doable, many frontrunners in the tech market have come up with their own VR devices that are there to cater the VR needs of the gamers. That’s right! Gamers can now buy their own VR devices and experience the next-gen VR like never before.
The Leader in the VR Industry:
Even though, VR is a new technology, there have already been numerous manufacturers all over the world trying to capture the bigger portion of the market. In spite of various competitors, PlayStation VR was the gamer's favorite by far up until Google Daydream came into the picture.
The PlayStation VR feature was announced at the recent E3 event, along with the latest PlayStation i.e. PlayStation 4 Pro. The expected release of PlayStation 4 Pro is on 10th November 2016, which means that the $400 PS VR device can be used properly after the 10th of November.
Whereas on Oct 4th, Google conducted an event that focused on many aspects of technology in the world today and Virtual Reality was one of the focal points. Along with the release of the impeccable handsets Pixel and Pixel XL, Google also announced its VR reality device that is priced at only $79. This low-cost VR device was, however, a sidelined item at the event day as Pixel and Pixel XL were the main course (read that in an emphatic tone). However, in the VR industry, Google Daydream created a paradox that attracted millions.
How Do These Devices Operate?
PlayStation VR is said to be accessible, smooth and incredibly powerful. To set up the device, a camera is required to be mounted on the TV`s top and some wires are required to be plugged into the PlayStation 4 Pro and that's it! The VR device is a headpiece, which comes with controllers that act as the arms of the players.
Google Daydream is stated to be relatively easier to set up as compared to PS VR. In order to use the Google VR device, gamers only need to download various apps that would be available shortly on the app stores. Currently Harry Potter wand game and the Labyrinth Marble game are a part of the list.
