If we look at the history of HP Envy series, this one gave a tough competition to Apple after its release. However, eventually, with growing products, brand expansion, and cost cutting, Envy series lost its worth and became meaningless. Currently, HP is trying to get the Envy back on track, and for this purpose, HP Spectre was released in July 2016 whereas Spectre x360 and Envy 13 has been updated to date. HP did not leave the Envy All-in- One 27 behind, its look and processor has also been updated.

Let’s have a look at the updates in HP Spectre x360, HP Envy 13 and HP Envy All-in- One 27:

1. HP Spectre x360

The largest update comes to the HP Spectre x360. The newer model is more powerful and sleek. Lastly, this version was iterated to have a folding hinge which made this a 2-in- 1 device. The newer model has this folding hinge. The model has thickness decreased from 15.9 mm to 13.8 mm whereas the weight has been reduced to 2.85 pounds. The display screen is 13.3 inches and is 1080p. The battery now has a battery life of 15 hours and is now a 57.8 watt per hour unit. The battery life of Spectre x360 has increased by up to 25%. The edge to edge keyboard comes with 1.3 mm travel distance and the touchpad now has a wider glass. There are four front –facing speakers and two USB 3.1 Type C ports.

The device is available in two configurations one comes with Core i5 processor whereas the other one comes with core i7 processor. The device offers up to 16 GB of RAM with the SSD having a capacity of up to 1 TB.

The price of HP Spectre x360 is $1,159 whereas the configuration with Core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, and 25 GB SSD will cost $1,049.

2. HP Envy 13

Along with HP Spectre x360, its cousin Envy 13 has also been updated. It comes with the same battery as that of Spectre x360 which as per HP can last up to 14 hours whereas its previous version offered only 10 hours of battery life. HP Envy will provide two display, either a 1080p display or a 2,560 x 1,440 panel. This choice is missing from the Spectre x360 SKU. However, HP Envy 13 lacks an edge-to- edge display. The laptop will have front firing speakers, which will provide a better output when used in the real world. The device is also available in two configurations.

The laptop has one USB 3.1 type-C port and two USB 3.0 ports. The processor has been updated to the Intel Core i5 or i7 processor. The device can handle up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB of solid state drive. The most basic model comes with Intel Core i5 processor with a 1080p display, 8 GB RAM, and 128 GB SSD storage. This is available for $849. The prices for other models have not been announced yet.

The sale of new HP Envy 13 will start from 26th October. Paklap.pk is intending to be the first one to introduce it in Pakistan, yet again.

3. HP Envy All-in-One 27

Next up in the line is the Envy All-in- one, and the only thing it shares with the previous model is the name. HP has put the powering hardware in the base of the device rather than behind the device. This has made the device much slimmer, and the bezels on the side and on top are 9.5 mm wide while the bezel at the top is 11.1 mm wide. The display of the PC can render 99% of the sRGB gamut and a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440p. The blue light filter of the PC cuts down the wavelengths of the light to keep you safely using it at night (no eyesight weakening issues anymore). Front facing speakers are present in the device. The sound bar is controlled by a unique audio dial which is an option one never gets on desktops, laptops or all-in- ones.

Intel has not yet released the 7th generation processors for the PCs. This is why Core i7 6700T is present as the processor in the Envy All-in- One.

The configuration with 16 GB of RAM, 128 GB SSD, 1 TB hard drive, a GeForce GTX 950M graphics card with a 4 GB of GDDR5 memory, Four USB 3.0 ports, one type-C USB 3.1 and an HDMI in/out ports. The PC is going to be available for $1,599 from 16th October.
