"Netflix is one of the most popular services in terms of watching TV series and movies. Airing some of the most famous shows like ‘Orange is the new Black’ and ‘Stranger Things’, Netflix is an international phenomenon these days, popular among all kinds of people. The company is trying to make the service available to a wider audience. Good news is that Netflix 4K is finally available for Windows 10 users on PC and laptops. Bad news is that it will only be available on computers with the new Intel Kaby Lake processors.

Why is this?

To view 4K graphics you will need to have fairly powerful computer with latest hardware and that is a computer with a Kaby Lake processor. Also Netflix will only be available in 4k when you download Microsoft Edge browser even though it’s not the first browser choice for most. Another problem is that users will have to update their subscription to Premium for Ultra-HD streaming which will take around £8.99 a month.

Where can I get the new processors?

The seventh generation Intel processors-Kaby lake- were announced earlier this year and are not very widely available. They are not available in the market for normal users, mostly just for OEMs and manufacturers. In addition to this they are extremely expensive! Computers that have the needed requirements are gaming laptops, Acer Swift 7, HP Spectre and Dell XPS. But again they are far beyond the reach of the ordinary user.

Is there no alternative to Kaby Lake?

Users will also need to have am Internet broadband connection of at least 25 Mbps. Even if your computer has Nvidia GTX 1080 graphics card, Intel i7 Skylake processor which can efficiently run other 4K graphics like GTA V, they cannot run Netflix, which is a major downside.

Some good news?

A ray of hope in this is that according to Intel almost a hundred computers with the new Kaby lake processors will be available in the market by the end of this year. So most probably users will get more choices sooner which will also hopefully be quite less expensive. Also, maybe this is a start of an increased availability for Netflix.

If this proves true, there is a good chance that you will be able to watch the next season of Stranger Things on your Windows!"
