FIDO or Fast ID Online is an alliance between Intel, Lenovo, PayPal and Synaptics which is working on to introduce more laptops into the market with fingerprint scanners that will use the impressions instead of passwords. The alliance will benefit all, as each one contributes their expertise. Synaptics’s biometric verification ability and Intel’s hardware prowess will be used in Lenovo’s laptops and this is how the objective will be achieved with everyone’s participation.
