Facebook, the social network obsession is all set to rule once again and this time, it's taking over the business audience through its new release called the "Workplace".
What is it?
Facebook provides a separate version of its network platform for companies to communicate. The idea it aimed at, is the replacement of the business’ previous internal communication tools like mail box and intranet. No doubt it is ready to give tough time to other workplace products and services like LinkedIn, HipChat, Slack, etc.
According to reports, this social network’s much-anticipated business has already been adopted by more than 1000 companies including many renowned companies like Starbucks, Royal Bank of Scotland and the other multinational corporations comprising more than 100,000 employees.
The Workplace provides a user-friendly layout and looks similar to the official Facebook layout; containing news feed, instant messages, photos uploading, liking and commenting features, etc. So it will not require any additional training and the users will not feel estranged.
The Workplace is primarily launched to provide an internal system for the employees to share information related to their projects and develop something great, as a team, thus benefiting the company. Articles, information, and updates that are relevant to the particular task assigned, can be uploaded for the employees to go through and leave their comments and they can even indulge in discussions to explain the matters. Workers can communicate via Messenger. Private groups can also be created which may include the colleagues and other business partners that are not official employees.
One of the best points of Workplace by Facebook is that it works well on the smartphones and other mobile devices. The factory workers who are not having computers and desks will be able to get the updates directly on their devices.
Facebook is going to give a three months trial favor to its customers for its most efficient and profitable app, Workplace (as claimed). After that, they will be charged a certain amount. The amount depends on the number of organizational employees who have joined the network. It works quite like a company's self-owned network. Where, “You get an account when you join the company, and you lose the account when you leave the company,” Codorniou told Fortune.
Paklap cannot wait to see all the Pakistani Organisations connect via this new profitable discovery.
