The rivalry between AMD and NVIDIA seems to be never ending. Whenever one brand announces a new release, the other one starts to make preparations for a similar release. This neck to neck competition ultimately turns out to be beneficial for the customers. Both brands are already known for their high quality, and this level of competition makes them even more efficient. This battle of the graphic cards seems to be elevating with every release. Recently, two new chip cards have been announced by the two companies. AMD Radeon Rx 490 and NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti have heated up the debate already on exactly which graphics card would take the lead. Paklap.pk has gathered their respective specifications based on all the rumors and hints so
GTX 1080 Ti will be using Pascal GP102 silicon architecture. This will undoubtedly give a much better output than the 1080 that is already out in the market. It will also have the specs of 3,328 CUDA cores and a 12 GB GDDR5X. Boost clock will have a capacity of up to 1,623 MHz which is an improvement on previous GTX 1080 with 1,606 MHz. What really highlighted the technology was the fact that it was supportive for virtual reality experiences. The superior vapor chamber cooling technology was used to keep the devices cool for as long as it was in use. This new graphics card was 3 times faster than the previous technology and topped relative performance charts in games like Witcher 3 and Rise of the Tomb Raider. If we do a step by step comparison of the two graphics card, then that would not be fair because all these specs are not sure as yet. It will only be fair to do the comparison when they actually release. For now, an individual analysis would be better off.
Coming towards AMD now, RX 490 is expected to deliver high-level gaming performance with great resolution. Half of the specifications were given away in the name itself. The “4” in the name denotes a 4th generation GCN architecture and the “9” explains its series position, and must we mention; 9 obviously falls ahead of 8. It will be targeted at greater than 256 bit-bus along with 4K gaming experience. Its base clock speed will be around 1,200 MHz, but the boost clock speed is not known as yet. Its powerful architecture is expected to have a total of 12 teraflops, which is better than many other graphics cards. AMD’s memory bandwidth is impressive and goes up to 716.8 GB per second. In order to run this card, 225 watts of power would be needed timely. Vega 10 is all what people are talking about, with respect to this particular graphics card. Since Polaris 10 GPU will not be continued further, it is rumored that Vega will take its place. If this is true then performance will boost up a lot as the new architecture no doubt works better than previous ones.
Now that we have talked about the specifications in some detail, everyone would be eager to know exactly when the two are coming with their release. AMD RX 490 is expected to be released somewhere in the fourth quarter of 2016 while Upcoming NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is expected to launch during the Consumer Electronics Show which will be held in Las Vegas; NVIDIA will come in the first quarter of 2017.
One would be expecting increases in the prices after looking at such astounding features. NVIDIA, however, has kept it near to what previously was being charged for their GTX 1080, 600 USD. This new graphics card is expected to be in the range of 700-800 USD. This price range will make it the most expensive GPU by NVIDIA. Looking at this price, we can pretty much make an idea of what AMD would charge. They will definitely charge in the same price range because they have to keep in mind that the two are strong rivals. A bad decision on price tag can bring down the whole perception of the product, which proves to be harmful to a brand’s image.
All in all, Paklap.pk wishes the two companies lots of luck and hopes that both the graphics card exceed customer expectations. Other than that, for all the techies, they can buy these cards or order straight from Paklap.pk and avail their unparalleled services.
