Microsoft is all set to release its Surface all-in- one (AIO) desktop by the end of October 2016. A hardware event is going to be organized for launching this new Surface-branded device which is currently going viral by the codename “Cardinal.” However, the launching of Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2 has been delayed until spring, 2017. Moreover, in the same event, the company is expected to unveil the upcoming feature of Windows 10, “what is going to be next?” which is believed to be released in two installments in 2017.
The features and specifications of Surface AIO Desktop are unfortunately still undisclosed and are going to be unveiled at the launch event that is scheduled late in October. Still, some rumors and leaks have been put forward related to Surface AIO Desktops. This device is elegantly designed and is expected to come in three different sizes that are 21-inch, 24-inch, and 27-inch. But, it is still not clear that the company is going to introduce all the three sizes or just one. It has also been projected that the 21-inch model will bear full HD display whereas the 24 inches and 17 inches will be upgraded to 4K. Moreover, the same Perspective Pixel screen technology that was found in Surface Hub is supposed to be used by Cardinal.
Microsoft will launch its new Surface-branded PC with a Surface Keyboard and a Surface Mouse. These accessories are specially designed to be used with desktop PC. On the other hand, it has been speculated that these accessories will be detachable from the PC which will transform the device into a tablet (transformer music runs in the background). This is Microsoft’s first entry into the desktop class whereas it has already entered the Surface tablet and Surface book zone.
It can be anticipated that the new Surface-branded PC is an open challenge to the iMac. It can even make the third parties like Dell and HP review their machines.
