The GPU 204 of NVIDIA GTX 970 and NVIDIA GTX 980 is the pinnacle of the process that started quite a few months ago with the launch of GTX 750 Ti. The ultra-efficient design of GPU 204 consumes very less power and provides a great gaming experience. This made the two graphic cards NVIDIA GTX 970 and NVIDIA GTX 980 deliver a great experience.

Both of these are available on Paklap.pk for you to order now, but before that let’s have a look at both of these and compare their features in detail.

Shared memory and cache:

Streaming Processor Maxwell (SMM) in both NVIDIA GTX 970 and NVIDIA GTX 980 is smaller in size and can handle the instructions at a much higher rate. The SMM’s share fewer resources than the SMXes. The shared memory of SMMs is now 96 KB. The cache of these has been quadrupled in size to a 2 MB size for both NVIDIA GTX 970 and NVIDIA GTX 980. The fast memory makes both these graphic chips more efficient as there is a faster flow of information and lesser blockages.

NVIDIA GTX 980 is a little better than NVIDIA GTX 970 in terms of Shared memory and cache.

Memory Bandwidth and clock speed:

The memory bandwidth for NVIDIA GTX 970 and NVIDIA GTX 980 has been decreased as compared to its previous versions. The memory bus offered in GTX 780 Ti was of 384 bits however for GTX 970 and 980 it is of 256 bits. NVIDIA GTX 970 and NVIDIA GTX 980 use the compression process which compresses the data so that it can process more amount of data without causing a bottleneck.

GTX 970 and GTX 980 both have 1.75 GHz memory clock speed, and as there are 4 RAMs, this clock speed is quadrupled to 7 GHz per graphic card. The memory bandwidth has decreased due to reduced bus size, dropping to 224 GHz per second.

Clock speed of GTX 970 and GTX 980:

The GTX 780 Ti had a clock speed of 928 MHz, but as Maxwell never fails to make its users happy, so it has made the Multiprocessors smaller yet more efficient. The GTX 970 has a clock speed of 1178 MHz, whereas, GTX 980 has a clock speed of 1216 MHz.

Thermal Design Power:

Both GTX 970 and GTX 980 are low in power but provide high choice. The thermal design power is the index of how much power a system can easily cope up with. The lower the value of thermal design power of a graphic chip the better the graphic card. The GTX 970 has the thermal design power of 145 watts whereas GTX 980 has the thermal design power of 165 watts. This is, however, lower than the thermal design power of GTX 760 which is 170 Watts.

Now let us see whether the NVIDIA GTX 970 is the better option, or should you choose NVIDIA GTX 980.

Below has been described the performance of each card for different games:

1. Game 1: Crysis 3:

The GTX 980 is a superior card in terms of performance. Thus it has a lead of 15 frames per second over GTX 970 at the resolution of 1900x1200 while playing Crysis 3. This lead decreases to 9.5 frames per second when the resolution of the screen increases to 3840x2160.

2. Game 2: Bioshock Infinite range:

GTX 980 gives better performance for this game too. GTX 980 leads GTX 970 with 15 frames per second for this game at the screen resolution of 1900x1200.

GTX 980 is a little more costly than GTX 970, so if you are looking for a good performance at a lower rate then you should order GTX 970 and if you can afford GTX 980, then order it right away on Paklap.pk.
