A redesigned MacBook Pro was widely expected to be unveiled by Apple at an event on Thursday 27th October 2016. Before the release, the information related to the product has been leaked out and a couple of images have slipped out earlier. The leaked pictures had revealed a new MacBook Pro, which has a touch panel above its keyboard and also a fingerprint reader.

In one of the pictures, the narrower MacBook Pro was shown which had slimmer bezels around the keys and screen. The format of the keyboard keys seemed flat in MacBook Pro, quite similar (referring to its sleekness) to MacBook. Otherwise, the design looked more or less like the Pro we know today.

The main highlighted feature of the MacBook Pro which has been revealed in the images is the presence of touch strip at the top of the keyboard. This feature had been rumored for months. The pictures gave away an early idea of the product which is unveiled. They gave an insight of what it is like when in use: completely blank and black when the computer is off, and will also have the capability to display the colors, buttons, and symbols in response to the screen display.

In one of the leaked images, the MacBook Pro was seen as being used for Apple Pay. A Touch ID fingerprint reader is located at right corner of the touch strip, and an arrow is pointed towards it. 9 to 5 Mac also found icons inside the MacOS which seems to refer to the ability to unlock or authenticate something with the touch strip, Touch ID.

The touch strip of the MacBook Pro could be called as the Magic Toolbar. Brian Conroy, who has caught and revealed a number of product names for it earlier, had spotted a trademark filing for the name at the Trademark Ninja. He had traced back this filing request to Apple. This does not make this name certain, but it certainly sounds more like a name that could be the name of an Apple product as Apple has the names of its product as, Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Mouse.
