"Why does a software get updates? Do we really need an update or are the companies just wasting our time? The answer is obviously no, as the companies/brands have developed a strong clientele, and they would always want that the level of satisfaction keeps increasing. This would then increase the demand and thus profits as well. But, the main reason is basically that updates to software have much better applications and security system. Updates usually fix the issues that were present in previous versions. The device generally boosts up, and the battery life of phones also increases. Similarly, phone software are always getting their updates because people are always adding more to their demands.

The long wait is now over! Android has finally released its latest update called “Android Nougat”. People are more interested in knowing when exactly the software can be downloaded on their phones rather than knowing what it actually holds. Reason being, they have developed a trust relationship with Android where they are sure that the update is going to be a definite improvement. Android Nougat was first released on Nexus devices, as expected. Other than these, there are plenty of smartphone brands whose users are eagerly waiting for access to Nougat. Paklap.pk has prepared a list of all those brands and their respective release dates.

Blackberry

Nowadays, Blackberry is always found with Android. If luck stays with it, Android 7.1 will probably get on Blackberry by early 2017, if not until the end of 2016.

HTC

HTC is that one company that assures the user to update the software within 90 days, and promises to update the phone after two years of the software’s release. It recently gave a statement that Android 7.0 Nougat software is now with them and it is expected to reach to the respective phones in the fourth quarter. HTC 10, HTC One A9 and ONE M9 model will be receiving the software only. If the code for 7.1 is given by Google earlier, even then this software will be offered to all HTC gadgets.

Huawei

It seems like Huawei is stuck with the Marshmallow Android because when it launched Mate 8, it had Marshmallow and the latest Mate 9 also has the same Android Marshmallow. So, we really can’t say when exactly they’ll pull up their games. However, as far as the updates are concerned, Huawei is a little quicker than others. The exact time for 7.1 Nougat isn’t sure as yet, but it is expected to come soon.

Honor

Honor is a sub-brand of Huawei, and the Honor 7 edition that was launched had the Marshmallow software. The update for this software was received on Honor phones just after a few months, thus based on this we can expect the Nougat update to come somewhere in early 2017.

LG

Android 7.0 Nougat update is already out for LG G5 users in South Korea. All other areas are expected to get the update in another few weeks. People with slightly older versions of LG will get the update somewhere around early 2017. One thing that LG has done and is worth appreciation is the fact that they recently launched their phone V20 with the built in Nougat software. This explains that LG is focused and makes sure that their customers are always satisfied.

Motorola

Motorola was always famous for getting the latest software updates to their phones but with Nougat, however, the case has been different as yet. Still, they have given a list of all those phones that will get updates in coming time, but we are not sure if it would be 7.0 or 7.1.

One Plus

One Plus was the first brand to get an update to Marshmallow. For One Plus 2 the users have to wait a bit, and One Plus X will receive it in a few weeks. In a tweet, they told their customers that they are working on bringing Nougat’s update on One Plus 3.

Samsung

In the update process, Samsung seems to be a little slower. For Marshmallow, for instance, the update came first for South Korea users and other devices receiving it after a little while. They haven’t really released or hinted anyone of a timeline that involves software updates. Still, people expect that S7 and S7 edge will soon be updated to Grace UX and that will also probably include 7.1 Nougat.

Sony Xperia

Sony has been considerate enough to announce which devices will be receiving the update to Android Nougat. They also ensured that they would give their best to bring updates as soon as possible. In a press conference, Sony unveiled that Xperia Z performance and XZ will first get the update in October 2016. By early 2017, the majority of Xperia phones will get the updates.

These were the main smartphone brands that are most commonly bought by people. In one way or the other, every brand will bring the update to their phones. Reason is that Android is a famous software and a big percentage of people are using it so they obviously would want the update. If the brands don’t get the updates fast enough then chances are after some time people might just switch to another phone brand. So, it is in the best interest of the mobile phone brands to get that software as fast as possible."
