Introducing another remarkable addition to the already impressive 2-in-1 lineup, the HP Pavilion 15 ER100 now boasts the latest 12th-generation Alder Lake processors from Intel. This upgrade not only enhances performance but also reduces power consumption compared to previous iterations.

Design

With its flawlessly designed structure, the HP Pavilion x360 necessitates minimal alterations to its sturdy plastic construction. This design accommodates the dual form factor of a 2-in-1 laptop, ensuring secure support without the need for major modifications.

12th Generation Processor

Responsible for all of that mediocre scale processing is the Intel Core i5 1235u 12th Generation Alder Lake processor. It is provided with a set of 10 cores, out of which 2 are performance cores that handle CPU-intensive computing operation, while on the other side, the 8 efficiency cores take into account the power consumption of the processor, which means under light usage only the required efficiency cores will function until a heavy task is engaged.

That helps in maximizing the battery capacity for longer mobility of the notebook. The power draw of the CPU is locked between 15 and 55 watts. Alongside them, it also gets dyed with 12 threads, and a level 3 Intel Smart Cache of 12 MB. The included performance cores are clocked at a base clock frequency of 1.30 GHz, which is plenty for light use, but they are also capable of overclocking through Intel’s Turbo Boost Technology to 4.40 GHz.

The graphical management for the device is supported by the standard-enabled integrated Iris Xe graphics and comes clocked at a render clock frequency of 1.20 GHz, which comes in handy when editing photos/videos, or even gaming. The max transfer rate supported for the DDR4 memory platform is 3200 MT/s.

Memory and Storage

In the case of memory, it comes with DDR4 memory with an 8 GB capacity, which allows for efficient multitasking performance for multiple desktop applications. On top of that, the capacity can also be increased down the line by upgrading.

The storage drive provided is the 256 GB PCIe® Gen 3 NVMe™ Value M.2 Solid State Drive that provides faster read and write speeds that allow the desktop applications and the Windows itself to boot as quickly as possible.

Display

The 360-degree rotating display is fitted with a diagonal measurement of 39.6 cm 15.6-inch HD WLED panel, that is provided with anti-glare surfacing which provides more privacy to your work. As standard, it also supports features like SVA, and eDP, and remains Flicker-free. To compensate for the tablet-like form factor it also offers touchscreen screen functionality. Having narrow bezels allows for a more screen-to-body ratio. The screen reaches a brightness of 250 nits while providing a 45% coverage of NTSC space while projecting a picture at a resolution of 1366 x 768.

Battery

The battery unit provided is a 3-cell Li-ion unit with a capacity of 43 Wh which offers Up to 2 hours of battery life under decent use. Recharging requires a 65-watt AC power adapter which is included in the box.

Keyboard and Trackpad

The keyboard fitted is with a full-size LED backlit board which offers one of the most comfortable typing experiences out there. Located below is the multi-touch supported and fully clickable touchpad.

The ports included for external connectivity include (2) USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-As with a 5 Gbps signaling rate (right side), (1) USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port with a 5 Gbps signaling rate, (1) HDMI v1.4b port for display out to an external monitor, (1) Headphone/microphone combo port, (1) AC Smart pin adapter plug, and an HP Multi-Format Digital Media Card Reader, which also provides support for SD/SDHC/SDxC.

Alongside that the WiFi and Bluetooth signals are processed by the Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac (2x2) multi-user MIMO supported and Bluetooth® 5 wireless card.

Other peripherals consist of a webcam that supports HP Wide Vision 720p HD Camera with temporal noise reduction and integrated dual array-digital microphones, that support Beam forming, Echo cancellation, and Noise suppression. The audio setup has been tuned by Bang and Olufsen which further offers a B&O control panel (audio control panel), and an Audio Center (audio control panel), over the front-firing Dual Speakers.
