ROG & Zen Books
At the time when the redesigned ROG line was introduced by Asus back in the year 2015 at IFA, people didn’t really think much of it. Of course, it got rid of the classic red and black gaming appearance that manufacturers have long been working on and brought in beautiful silver and bronze accents, but did the series deliver in terms of its performance? It definitely did!
The very first model that the manufacturer released in its line of gaming laptops is that of the G752VT. This particular Asus Rog gaming laptop, like many of its successors, features an Intel Core i7-6700HQ. in order to give the machine a major performance speed boost, it was developed with 16GB of RAM, two hard drive out of which one is a 1TB mechanical disk and a 128 GB SATA drive. Considering that this is a series of gaming laptops, it was extremely important for the manufacturer to be very careful in terms of its graphics, and for this reason this line was further given a NVIDIA GTX 970M graphics chip.
The manufacturer further delivered certain updated models in the ROG line of gaming laptops. This included the G752VS-XB78K that got rid of the Core i7-6700HQ and replaced it with the faster Core i7-6820HK. To make things even more appealing, the manufacturer further threw in 64GB of RAM, which means that the machine is guaranteed to perform at top speeds. Moving forwards, a new mobile version of the GTX 970M was offered under the name GTX 1070 and offered a lot more than the previous version. Although both models came with the same 75Hz, 1920x1080 panel with G-sync, the manufacturer threw in an a 500GB SSD together with a 1TB data drive to make sure that the machine continues to perform in a smooth manner.
Although ASUS has literally robbed its machines off the visual punch by using a matte coat instead of gloss, the fact of the matter is that strong contrast and accurate colors bring in that bit of appeal to the ASUS ROG gaming laptops series. The games on this series look spectacular and its screens work exceptionally well when handling even the darkest of details. Apart from its excellent display, the other features that totally stand out within this series are the panel’s 75Hz refresh rate and G-Sync. For the PC game experience, the manufacturer has added in frame synchronization. Considering that most Acer Predator series do not offer G-Sync, it is good to learn that Asus has included it in as a standard feature on all of its mainstream gaming laptops.
Some of its most outstanding features
The Asus Rog gaming laptop series brings together the latest GeForce GTX 1070 with a 6th Generation unlocked Intel Core i7 processor, Windows 10 Pro and up to 64GB DDR4 RAM – if anything, this is the best imaginable combination for a gaming laptop.
The gaming laptops by Asus further set a new standard for PC gaming by throwing in a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 GPU with Pascal architecture. What this means is that gamers are guaranteed to experience game-changing innovations with excellent energy efficiency. As a gamer, you are sure to fall in love with the super-fast wide-view panels introduced in this series. This feature is what delivers outstanding quality images and contrast, irrespective of how extreme an angle you view it from. The laptops further make use of NVIDIA G-Sync technology in order to create synchronization between the GPU’s frame rate and display’s refresh rate.
