"It is without any doubt a fact that Apple is in time of troubles. The numbers on the smartphone market are shrinking, customers are not as satisfied as they used to be, and now Microsoft has launched its Surface Studio which is eager to get its hands on the Mac market.

Where It All Started?

Apple introduced the breathtaking Mac Pro in 2013, which proved to be the dream laptop for every designer. It was a lot more than what the competition could offer and most importantly, it catered the designers, the market that composes a good portion of Apple`s share in the laptop industry.

From then onwards, Apple relied too much on its brand equity and didn’t upgrade its laptops how they should’ve upgraded. iMac only had a couple of updates, but nothing too notable. As far as the Mac Pro is considered, there hasn’t been a single update for it since 2013. However, it has been more than a year since MacBook Pro received an upgrade, but finally, Apple has done something about it, and the latest version of MacBook Pro is to be made available in the market in a couple of days.

Microsoft Availing the Opportunity:

The closest Microsoft ever came to catering the designer niche was last year, when it launched the Surface Book into the market and since then, there have been no signs of Microsoft addressing this market segment. However, things were being brewed up by Microsoft on the inside, which finally led to the creation of the marvel; “Surface Studio”.

For those of you who do not know, Surface Studio is Microsoft`s latest launch that is literally an all- rounder laptop. From handling day to day tasks in a flash to catering the graphic designers and artists alike, Surface Studio is a workhorse that caters everyone.

It consists of a massive 28-inch PixelSense display that is equipped with zero-gravity hinges which allow the device to be converted into a massive drawing board. It supports the brilliant use of Surface Pen and Surface Dial and can address up to 10 touches on the screen at a single moment - astonishingly multi- touch. For a common man, all of this might be nothing more than a playground, but for professionals, it is designer`s heaven.

The delay and the procrastination on Apple`s behalf has come back to haunt them, as Surface Studio offers a lot more than what the timeworn Macs have to offer. Now only time would tell whether designers would be willing to try out the latest Windows laptop by Microsoft or still stick to Apple`s Macs and hope for an update."
