No matter how much advance a mobile camera gets, the handy digital cameras will always be in demand because of their exclusive usage. Due to the intense competition, they are constantly improving and reaching great heights that mobile brands find tough to match.

Amongst the well-known camera manufacturing brands, Sony is a big name. It has launched some cameras that people find really easy to use, including the popular DSLR cameras. Cyber-shot is a line of Sony’s digital cameras that it started in 1996. There has been the “T”, “R”, “W” and “H” series. The new Cyber-shot DSC H400 of Sony has come out to be a pretty affordable model in just $300.

Paklap.pk will give you a detailed analysis of this product so you can easily decide which camera you should be opting for next.

This camera looks very much like one of those mini DSLRs, which you can wear with a strap around your neck or easily carry in your bag. One can easily hold it as it provides a good rest for your two fingers to be placed on top while taking a picture. Let’s say you’re in a fast-moving car and can’t hold the camera still, Sony has managed to provide just the feature to help you in that particular situation and eliminate any blur that might occur; the “SteadyShot” image stabilization!

The body is all black with a matt finish; most of its buttons are similar to the DSLR, which gives the whole camera a very professional feel. Since the size is very petite, all buttons are close to the fingers, therefore, allowing fast clicks.

The huge Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar Lens is situated right at the front that lifts up the whole look of it. It has a focal range of 24.5mm and an optical zoom of 63x, topped with a 20.1-megapixel resolution that allows you to take zoomed in pictures clearly of a wider range. The megapixel, however, is the same as it has always been with other Sony cameras, so no major improvement here.

The stereo microphone is right on top of it which further enhances the outlook. The on/off button is located at the bottom, paired with a tiny lamp button that turns orange to signal low battery and green for when it is turned on. When you put the camera on auto focus, it takes a little time to adjust it and therefore taking pictures of a fast moving scene might be an issue for the first 3 seconds.

It also has that amazing smile detecting technology which, when turned on, takes the picture immediately when you smile. Furthermore, the Intelligent Auto function makes changes as per the scene you are shooting.

To change the zoom position, all you have to do is put your finger on a switch around the shutter release button. When you do that, the lens automatically adjusts to a suitable view in less than 8 seconds. Right beside the on/off button, is a dial button that has around eight options to choose from. The only problem is of it being a little too easy to slide that one can accidentally change the settings with a light touch. On the same dial is the video mode, in which you can record a video, and necessary adjustments are made automatically, like resolution and lens zoom.

Additions have been made to the types of scene modes supported by the camera. The routine one includes landscape and portrait mode along with new beach, snow and firework mode. Like other cameras, this too has a rear LCD screen to give a good view of films/pictures. The 3-inch screen has a 460k dot resolution. A setback is that it is fixed and cannot be rotated. The back of the camera can be uncomfortable to use because of the small size of buttons, though all the necessary controls are made available.

At the bottom of the camera, you will find the menu button, which is crucial because here you will be able to set all settings and modes. When we press the button, a rectangular bar appears on the left side of the screen.

On both sides of the camera are small metal holders to attach a strap if you want to. On the left side, there is a USB port covered with a flap, to save and transfer pictures. After around 300 clicks the battery starts to die, this is the standard life of the cell that is already inside, but of course, you can buy more and keep them charged, as a backup.

Overall speaking, the camera is a real deal at a price of $300, if not the best one as yet. Until now the ratings show that picture quality is the best feature of this camera and analyzing altogether, it got a rating of 4.4/5. So wait no more to buy this compact camera at paklap.pk and share with us your experience.
