The Dell Inspiron 7567 Laptop

The Dell Inspiron  7567 is a great gaming machine with amazing battery life and performance. With latest Intel Core i7-7700HQ Kaby Lake processor, Geforce GTX 1050Ti GPU with 4 GB VRAM, it also has a DDR4 RAM of 16 GB, and an additional 256 GB SSD. To provide the users with enough space this machine comes with a secondary hard disk drive of 1 TB. Though High Definition, the Dell Inspiron fails when it comes to displaying of only 1920 x 1089 TN panel.

Look wise the notebook has followed the tradition of gaming laptops and chosen a red and black color scheme with a metallic grey finish on its rear side. The plastic body with its curved and sharp edges make the design quite unique and edgy. Dell Inspiron has also merged a new mesh-like design on its exhaust present in the back. The most notable change in the design is the featuring of a single hinge, instead of two which gives the display a rather floating look. Despite there being a substantial amount of flex in the display the lack of thickness makes it apparent that it might get damaged easily. Dell has also provided a maintenance hatch on the machine that makes opening the laptop as simple as removing a single screw. By removing a singular screw the user can easily access RAM, CMOS battery, and Wi-Fi module.

The keyboard and the touchpad follow the design of the previous model. The keyboard has a travel of 1.5 mm with a balanced actuation weight across the keyboard. Though some gamers might find the keyboard hard to adjust to initially, after a few days they might get used to it. The keyboard is also backlit comprising of two-step lighting. One major drawback of the keyboard is that continuous use might leave marks on the wrists, owing to its sharp edges. On the other hand, the touchpad has a rather rough texture in lieu of matte finish, which works quite well and with ease.

The laptop has enough power to bear every triple AAA title. Also, with active DX12 this machine can consistently produce almost 46 fps. The laptop is great at multi-tasking, and with a 16 GB RAM, it makes editing videos quite easy as well. The machine handles the heat just fine with the highest temperature reaching to 51 degree Celsius which makes the keyboard somewhat warm whilst gaming but nothing to get extremely worried about. Last the battery. Dell Inspiron 7567 Gaming laptop has a battery time of about 7- 10 hours depending upon the tasks one performs on it. At 100 percent brightness, the battery is going to drain out quickly in almost 4 to 5 hours.

This machine tries to be an all-rounder gaming device. The performance is great with a satisfactory battery life. The storage and memory are great as well, but the display fails to impress the users and readily takes the fun out of gaming and other tasks. This device is available at 1,26,900 Pakistani Rupees.

Apple Siri Speaker and 10.5 in iPad Pro

The 10.5 inch iPad Pro is an effort by Apple to make a table that would have everything crammed in it. It has great speakers and amazing screen tech this slate aims to replace your laptop if you cannot buy a Macbook. With a screen of 10.5 inches, it is hard to support it on your hands as the thumb covers a part of the screen. It is light and allows for a Smart Keyboard to be attached to it. The device is not waterproof which is a shame. The screen is great and it is astonishing at how little bezel there is. Better colors, brighter screens, and an anti-reflective layer make it quite convenient to use it anywhere without any apprehensions.

To answer Amazon Echo and Google Home, Apple launched the Siri- powered speakers which apparently boast premium audio quality and obviously have a much higher price tag than Amazon Echo. The HomePod is a voice-controlled speaker that has a wake word “Hey, Siri” after which it starts to stream whatever we say to Apple which would interpret our commands and play what we have asked it to. The HomePod is a fabric-covered cylinder and has a height of 172mm and the same diameter of an iPhone X that is 142 mm. It has a weight of 2.5 kilograms. Siri is offering both male and female voices which present a rather intermixed personality making it seem like a rather dumb robot. It can set one timer at a time unlike its rival Alexa; it can control home devices as well if you connect them to Apple’s HomeKit system and do the usual calculations. The HomePod allows the user to send text messages through the iPhone it is connected with, but that is where a major drawback arises. It allows for anyone who can access the speaker to send messages through the owner’s phone as there is no multi-user support. The HomePod can be used as speakers for calls made by iPhone. Siri’s volume is linked with the noises in the home. It means that it can adjust to the noises and raise or lower its voice as required and when it does not understand any particular question it simply responds with an “uh- huh?”. The set-up process is quite simple as one just has to take it out of the box and wait for the set-up dialogue box to appear. Though we can mute the always-listening mic, there is no guarantee that Siri has stopped listening.

Upcoming Apple Watch

Apple released its Watch Series 3 in September 2017. However, people are already drooling over the new Apple Watch that is set to release in September 2018. Analysts believe that the Fourth Generation Apple Watch will have a 15 percent bigger display than its predecessors- Series 3- and will also support a larger battery inside. It is rumored that design-wise Apple is going to give the Apple Watch a round face to resemble its forefathers, the analog wristwatches, though considering how the Android Wear watches give a jumbled up display, this idea might not be a good option for Apple iWatch. It is also rumored that Apple is thinking of selling multi-function smart wristbands which will obviously replace the modular straps. This would allow Apple to transfer some of the functions from the small screen onto the wristbands; and might even allow Apple to add features such as the Camera, or even help with the bigger battery. Some even opined that it would be used as a continuous display panel or even health monitoring. One of the great advantages of the wristbands could be that it would allow Apple to make the Apple Watch thinner and hence lighter but at the same time, the overall weight of the watch – the screen plus the wristbands- could end up being heavier. There are also patents that suggest that the wristbands might be Magnetic, that is when worn the magnets would help hold the Apple watch in place and when taken off they would adjust on their own.

There is a possibility that the Apple Watch might feature the face recognition function, though the watch does not need to be unlocked as many times as one needs to unlock an iPhone. It is also suggested that Apple might embed the sophisticated EKG technology in the watch. Apple has over the years shown a keen interest in the health of its consumers. It might add fitness and health sensors. It is suggested that Apple will introduce micro-LED screen which comes with multiple benefits which include less power usage, thinner and tougher screen and brighter images. It also might feature Liquid Crystal Polymer antenna which is not only more resistant to heat and moisture but also allows for a stable frequency transmission.

Google Assistant

Google is not holding back when it comes to taking on Alexa, Cortana, and Siri. Google Assistant is Google’s answer to its own voice assistant, which over time has made impressive progression making it perhaps the most advanced assistants available in the market. Google launched its first Assistant in May 2016 at Google I/O, before it started to appease and adjust to other phones running on Android. Since 2016 Google Assistant has spread its wings far and wide by dint of partnerships with other brands and companies such as LG. At presently it works with 5000 devices and Google aims at adding more to this long list. From refrigerators to headphones, speakers to cars, there is no knowing where the limit for Google Assistant lies.

Originally an upgrade to Google Now, Google Assistant is a voice-controlled smart assistant. With a wake call as “Hey Google”, it allows you to send messages, check appointments and set reminders, much like Apple’s Siri, but it takes AI to the next level by providing a bot-centric experience. It allows for continued conversation and interaction which entails that for every command you do not have to utter “Hey, Google!” It also allows for multi-tasking, which makes it quite superior to its rivals such as Siri or Amazon Echo. It also helps you work on your common etiquettes with the help of its “Pretty Please” feature, which responds quite pleasantly when anyone says “please” or “thank you” to Google Assistant.

Google aims to introduce six more voices to Google Assistant, one of them being of the iconic John Legend, and also aims to make it wise enough to call and book appointments for its users on its own.

Here's how Google Assistant works and what you need to know about Google's AI. Unlike Siri, Google Assistant is available to tons of devices which include androids and eventually will cover Apple iPhone as well.
