Gaming laptops are gaining rapid popularity, more and more gamers are preferring laptops over gaming desktop, mostly because of their portability. Although you can find a desktop for the usually lesser price than a gaming laptop, you will be out of options if you want to take your gaming system with you to some place.

Gaming laptops greatly enhanced the experience, because not only they offer pretty strong hardware but you can carry them anywhere you want and enjoy your games.

This wasn’t the case a few years back, or when first gaming started mainstream, there were only desktop computers that were strong enough to run the games, and almost all of them had to be custom built where you buy every hardware part by yourself and then assemble them together to ultimately play your favourite games.

This whole experience was no doubt satisfying, at the end. But most often than not you would run into a problem, that would even make you start all over again, and not to mention that it required a pretty good deal of technical know-how, after all, it’s not possible for everyone to build a PC from scratch. It would usually take, days and even months in some cases to finally complete your custom system, and have it up and running.

Today, however, things are very different than that, if you want to play games then you just have to go and buy a gaming desktop or laptop. Although most gamers still swear by their custom built systems, we simply cannot neglect the power, and more importantly ease and comfort ability, that is in just buying a gaming laptop that will be able to play everything, without needing to calculate about how much RAM, you’re going to need, and if your motherboard will support the latest Core i7 Processor or the latest Graphics Driver.

There are now hundreds of options available when it comes to buying a gaming system, every famous company has pushed one or two gaming laptops in the market, and they continue to do so on a regular basis. It could get a little harder for you to decide which system will be the best for you because there are literally hundreds of them to choose from.

So, let’s take a brief look at some of the best gaming laptops of 2017:

Alienware 13 R3

When there’s a talk of the gaming industry and laptops, specifically - then it’s impossible to not mention the famous Alien Ware series laptops by Dell.

This particular model, Alienware 13 R3, features the best display and color gamut, that you will not find in any other gaming laptop. The protruding edges will catch your attention instantly, they are done to accommodate the heat sinks behind the screen.

13 RS is available in two different version, you either get a Core i5 one or a Core i7 one, along with this you will get a strong Nvidia GTX 1060 GPU, 8 or 16GB of RAM, and built in storage starting from 180GB to 512GB, storage type is SSD so you get faster boot up and game load times.

All this is enclosed in a small package, the screen size is 13.3-inch, as stated above the display is one of the best, the OLED touch screen is simply amazing, and is perhaps the most interesting feature on this laptop.

Razer Blade Pro

A real power packed machine, when you’re looking for a system that will handle anything you through at it and money is not an issue for you then you should definitely consider taking a look at Razer Blade Pro.

Coming with the latest generation Intel Core i7 Processor and the best in the market GPU- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 with 8 GB of dedicated memory that can kill through any latest and heavy game that you throw at it.

You will also get a huge amount of RAM (32GB) and a big, full sized display (17.3”). The screen is touch sensitive in this as well, with support for G-Sync.

You also get a bigger storage option starting from, 512 and going to a massive 2TB, and that too in fast flash based SSD.

The key board and track pad, are particularly interesting, you will instantly feel a premium quality click and feedback when you first click the keys, the track pad is also placed at a different location that makes it easier for you to navigate while gaming.

Gigabyte Aero 14

A smart and light weight 14-inch ultra book, that’s also easy on your pockets.

Although this will cost you less than the previously mentioned two laptops, you shouldn’t expect low quality. It comes equipped with a Core i7 Processor and a GTX 1060 Graphics Card with 6GB dedicated memory.

You also get a huge RAM, available in two different version one 16GB and the other a massive 32GB, storage is similarly huge, starting from 512 and going high as 1TB; and just like the Razer blade pro, the storage in this one is Flash based as well.

Dell Inspiron 15 (7567)

Again a laptop that won’t put you under a load of financial pressure, and you can still do plenty of gaming on it. You wouldn’t expect the Inspiron series to be one associated with anything gaming related but the latest addition by Dell, Inspiron 15 offers strong hardware, like the Core i5 or i7 (Quadcore) processor, GTX 1050/Ti GPU, RAM up to 16GB, and multiple storage options in form of 1TB SSD, 1TB HDD and 128GB SSD.

Certainly, this can’t be put into the competition by more gaming oriented laptops like the Alien Ware, in terms of performance. But overall it’s a great value for your money, and the long lasting battery is an additional plus, which is quite hard to find in any laptop related to gaming.

HP Omen 17

HP has also been making great strides in the gaming industry, particularly its Omen series laptops are gaining vast popularity. Omen 17 - the latest one in this series comes with a Core i7 Processor, GTX 1070, 16GB DDR4 RAM and storage options of 1 TB HDD plus 128GB SSD.

You also get a full sized display of 17.3 inches, but this makes it quite heavy compared to other laptops. Weighing 7 pounds, it could get a little harder for you to carry it, which affects its portability, but it also is affordable compared to the other market rules.

MSI GP72VRX Leopard Processor

MSI is not a very famous brand, but it certainly holds a big name when it comes to developing powerful gaming laptops.

A core i7 Processor and a GTX 1060 GPU, along with 16GB RAM, deals with your gaming needs. It’s also a big sized one, with a screen size of 17.3”, with a responsive 120Hz refresh rate and wide viewing angle.

A good mid range laptop, that will handle your intermediate level gaming needs, but might not be able to cope with more advanced and heavy games. But if you’re interested in VR, then this could be a good option.

Alienware 17 R4

Again, a famous name. Some people consider Alienware overrated, especially when there are other better options available. But the Alienware 17 R4 might just prove them wrong, coming with the usual Core i7 Processor and two different GPU options, a GTX 1060 or a GTX 1070 if you’re into more serious gaming.

Similarly, two RAM options, you can either opt for the 16GB or 32GB, it comes built in with 128GB SSD, 1TB HDD; you can choose to upgrade the SSD up to 1TB.

A famous brand in the gaming industry, best if you need a power packed machine that looks very aggressive, be warned though it’s on the more pricey end.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus GX501

A pretty decent machine by ASUS, coming with an Intel Core i7 Processor and GeForce GTX 1080 Graphics Card by Nvidia.

You also get 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD. It’s a smaller one with 15.6-inch screen size but does great in terms of power, it can cut through most famous titles with relative ease.

The build quality, however, is not on the par, particularly the keyboard doesn’t feel very good.

Razer Blade

The Little brother of Razer Blade Pro, equipped with a 2.6GHz Core i7 Chip, GTX 1060 Graphics Card and 16GB RAM.

Storage ranges from 256GB to 1TB and is flash based SSD. It’s a rather small notebook with a screen size of 14 inches, but this adds to its portability, you can take this anywhere you are and easily enjoy your games.

ASUS ROG Strix GL502

Another solid laptop by ASUS, a Core i7 Processor and GTX 1060/70 powering it up. The DDR4 16GB RAM makes things go smoother, with storage up to 256GB SSD and 1TB HDD and a screen of 15.6-inch, this makes for a great mid level gaming machine.

The display is particularly noticeable, with its vibrant color and super high definition gaming experience.
